PROGRAMS

LANGUAGE AND LITERACY WORKSHOPS

This program provides bilingual workshops to support refugee families with parenting including tips and strategies to support their children to develop strong language and literacy skills.
The program is open to families with young children of a refugee background or who are seeking asylum. It operates in City of Greater Bendigo and Mount Alexander Shire. In 2021 workshops will be offered in Karen, Dinka and Hazaraghi languages.
To find out about up-coming workshops please contact us at

BILINGUAL SUPPORT

We have bilingual support workers who speak Karen, Dari, Hazaraghi and Dinka and can support families and service providers to bridge cultural gaps and provide in-language, culturally relevant support. We currently offer bilingual support on a fee-for-service basis or as part of self-managed NDIS plans.

WRITING AND PUBLISHING CHILDREN'S BOOKS

We are currently working on developing a series of bilingual children's books based on traditional stories. We are currently working with the Karen community to develop stories based on traditional Karen myths and legends. If you’d like to be involved, please contact us at mothertongestoriesltd@gmail.com
